SCC Super Z-6 Chain Clearance Specifications and Details

The SCC Super Z-6 tire chain requires a minimum of 6 mm of clearance on the inside sidewall of the tire. While other obstructions may be present, the critical clearance area on most vehicles is the inside sidewall of the tire. This is where the tire comes closest to suspension components like springs, shocks, and struts, as well as brake lines. If you are unsure if your vehicle has the 6 mm of clearance to accommodate this chain, be sure to check your vehicle's owner's manual for more information. If you are still unsure, chat or email with one of our winter traction experts today for help.

In N. Texas, speed rated chains are great to have for the rare / once a year icy conditions. When you gotta' move, these chains make it happen. Cheers, FanBelt32

I purchased a Honda Passport in April of this year. It is an all wheel drive. The owner's manual specified the chains that I had to buy for use on this vehicle. I practiced getting them on and off in my driveway. They were much easier to use than the chains that I had used for years on my 2003 Pilot. I tried the new chains on my new Passport for the first time about two weeks ago. There had been a 15'-18' snowfall a few days earlier on the g... read more...

I installed the chains in my driveway before heading off on a trip. I never had a need to install them on my trip but the ease of installation and removal convinced me to buy these chains again if I ever need new ones.

Bought these chains for my Rogue that is AWD. I live in the South and we have issues here when it snows or ices over as only the main roads or streets are salted and/or plowed. In the past have gotten stuck at work trying to get home and wanted to ensure that I wouldn't have to deal with that again. We did have snow and ice this winter and I tried these out and was pleased with the ease of installation and use-ability. Definitely need to driv... read more...

Drove down for Tahoe in blizzard conditions without any problems. I installed them the day before in the covered garage of the resort with minimal difficulty. Took about 20 min on one side and 5 min on the opposite side. Tight fit and very low profile. No rubbing. Easy to remove. 5 min to take off on the side of the road with light rain. The long gloves supplied was robust and very handy for removal.

Easy to put on easy to take off. Not a lot of 'bump' as I drove on the snow, like most chains.I have told many people about these and they are surprised and have had wished they bought them.
